Mangalore, Apr 21: In the modern context mobility of high school students has become important, said MLA Krishna J Palemar while distributing bicycles to students of KREC High School at Suratkal near here on Friday April 20.

Palemar said that one of the reasons for the government to distribute bicycles was that it would boost self-confidence in a student. He informed that the government intends to distribute cycles to all students in the state.

The bicycles were presented to students who hail chiefly from financially-backward families.

Director of National Institute of Technology-Karnataka (NIT-K) Sandeep Sancheti warned the students to be cautious and not to risk their lives and that of others.

Councilor of Mangalore City Corporation, Suratkal, Revathi Puthran, education coordinator of the school Kanya Kumari, Suratkal SI T R Jagannath and registrar of NIT-K A H Sequeira were present on the occasion.
