Udupi, Apr 22: These days when the social fabric of the country is being ruined by acts of hatred, mistrust and revenge, it is so comforting to come across deeds of kindness which promote communal harmony, goodwill and mutual trust.

Here is an example which is worth emulating by everyone.

The Saparivara Nagabrahmasthana renovation committee needed some extra land for their shrine, which was not available from anyone else. Hence they requested their immediate neighbour Dr S Philip Lewis of Lewis Natural Foods Ltd. to help them out.

As a remarkable gesture of goodwill, Dr Lewis not only donated six-cent land from his possession but also built a protective wall around it at his cost.

The beneficiaries have wholeheartedly lauded this kind deed of Dr Lewis. They also recall that the Lewis firm has been engaged in such socially beneficent work right from the beginning, the most remembered being the laying of a public road, which has been a boon to the public ever since,  way back in 1988.
