Kundapur, Apr 25:  A mini port constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8.30 crore will be inaugurated at Gangolli Friday May 11.

This was announced by minister for fisheries and ports B Nagaraj Shetty here on Tuesday April 25.  He said that chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and deputy chief minister Yediyurappa would be requested to be present at the inaugural function.

He further said that the government has earmarked Rs 7 crore for de-silting works at Gangolli, Malpe and Hejamadi ports.

Nagaraj Shetty who also inspected the port said that he is not fully satisfied with the current works and asked the officials to send the report to the government.

He instructed the officials to install two high mast lamps in the port area and sought a detailed report on dredging being under taken at the region.
