Mangalore, Apr 27: May Day will be observed by Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association at Shanthi Nilaya in Balmatta here on Tuesday May 1.

Addressing a press meet here on Thursday April 26 Association president Ivan D’Souza said that the government will be distributing free insurance policies to the drivers. 

Former minister Ramanath Rai will be inaugurating the ceremony and former MP Vinay Kumar Sorake will preside. Dakshina Kannada district sub-division labour officer H Gopal Gowda will deliver a talk on the occasion.

Former ZP president Mamatha D S Gatti will be inaugurating the SHGs which will help women labourers while insurance policies will be distributed by assistant labour commissioner Mallikarjuna. 

KPCC secretary Mohammed Badruddin, state Lawyers’ Parishat vice-president T N Poojary and Bangalore-Mangalore Railway Horata Samiti coordinator Mohan T V will be the chief guests on the occasion.

Louis D’Souza, Shekhar Derlakatte and Rajesh were present at the press meet.
