Udupi, Apr 27: The newly-built office and the meeting hall of the taluk panchayat here were inaugurated recently.
ZP president B N Shankar Poojary inaugurated the new meeting hall and the office constructed at the cost of Rs 10.75 lac each. MLA K Rahgupathi Bhat presided over the programme.
MLC Prathapchandra Shetty speaking at the inaugural function said that IT and computer networking facilities have been provided to all zilla, taluk and gram panchayats and the district administration. It is very odd that MLAs and MLCs are still at a loss trying to access all updated information, he said.
He lamented that despite the boon of computerization, MLAs and MLC’s still do not get important information and summaries of resolutions. The same is true in the case of secretariats of the legislative council and legislative assemble, he said.
