Mangalore, Apr 30: A case of a stranger gaining entry into a house in Bijai and robbing the inmates of Rs 30,000 on Saturday night has been reported from Bijai.

The house, 'Little Star' is located in Pais Garden.

Four female members of the family stayed in the house. An unidentified person is said to have knocked at the door around 10-30 pm and as the door was opened, he forcibly entered and demanded surrender of all gold. When others came running, he assaulted one of them, Regina Lasrado (57), with a knife. The others fearing for life gave him a cash sum of Rs 30,000 which was in their possession. He reportedly fled the place at once.

Regina, said to be working as a staff nurse at KMC, was wounded and is now recovering in a hospital.
