Mangalore, Apr 30: In the name of ‘Vishwa Go Sammelan’, Shri Raghaveshwar Bharathi Swamiji of Shree Ramachandrapur Math is promoting fascism and RSS ideology in the state, said Congress leader A K Subbaiah.

He was speaking at the press conference on here Monday April 30.

Only cattle worshipers are coming for the ‘Go Sammelan’ held at Hosanagar. Cattle owners are not participating in it. Cattle welfare is not possible by cattle worshipers.

Only an idol of cattle is enough for a worshiper. But for the purpose welfare of cattle, understanding the problems of cattle, it is necessary that those who rear them are present at such gatherings.  However, this is not done at ‘Go Sammelan’ held at Hosanagar. Instead of this, superstitious beliefs are sown in the minds of the people and a lot of publicity and money is gained by this, he alleged.

“If the Swamiji has pity over the animals, let him include buffaloes also. Both tiger and deer have the right to survive. Without eating the deer, tiger cannot survive. Hence, the Swamiji is cheating the people by telling lies”, he opined.

If the Swamiji is opposing killing of cattle, let him purchase all the cattle. Otherwise please stop opposing butchering, Subbaiah asked.

Cattle owners are not slaves of cattle worshipers. To propagate this, cattle owners’ convention will be held soon in Kodagu, he informed.

In government dairies, male calf is killed within 24 hours of its birth for economic reasons. How come a private person could bear the expenditure of unproductive cattle, he questioned.

At the same time Subbaiah condemned the arrest of B V Sitaram of ‘Karavali Ale’ Kannada evening daily and his wife Rohini and described it as misuse of law. He also called for the unification of secular forces to fight against these kinds of fascist powers dominating in D K, Udupi, Kodagu and Chikamaglur.
