Udupi, Apr 30: Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane district unit president Satish Amin, general secretary Prakash Suvarna Katpady and organizing secretary Chandresh Pithrody were among the 59 couples who got married at a mass marriage ceremony held here on Sunday April 29.
The ceremony, organized by the district unit of Mogaveera Yuva Sanghatane was held at Sri Kula Mahastree Amma Temple premises here.
The marriage rituals were officiated by 21 priests led by Satyanarayana Adiga.
The purpose of the mass marriage was to promote simple weddings and abolish the dowry system.
Among those present were Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, former MP Vinaykumar Sorake, former MLA Vasant V Salian and others.
