Mangalore, May 1: Supreme Laundry at Marnamikatta near here was charred in a fire tragedy in the wee hours of Tuesday May 1.
The sources said that fire broke out owing to electrical short circuit in the shop. Since no one was in the shop, the tragedy came to light only when locals saw smoke coming out from the roof of the shop. By the time fire was extinguished, the entire shop had been gutted.
Clothes, furniture and other things which were in the shop have completely been charred. The total loss has not yet been estimated. However, sources claimed that it may amount to several lacs of rupees.
A complaint has been filed in the Pandeshwar police station in this connection.
