Bucharest, July 24 (IANS): India's Varsha Sanjeev entered the women's semi-final with a 4-1 win over Anastasiya Trunina of Belarus in the IBSF World Under-21 snooker championship here on Friday.

Varsha, the 18-year-old from Bengaluru, lost the first frame. But she bounced back strongly to take the next four for a commanding win to set up a semi-final clash with top seed Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan of Thailand.

Earlier, in the preliminary league, Varsha topped her group by winning four of her five matches to qualify for the quarter-finals along with compatriot Doyel Dey who won three outings in the other group.

Doyel, however, lost her quarter-final 0-4 to Thailand's 15-year old Nutcharat Wongharuthai.

In the men's section, Srikrishna Suryanarayanan went down 1-4 to Scotland's Dylan Craig after qualifying for the knock-out with three wins in his group.
