Cricket: Jangid bowls Vidarbha to victory


Mysuru, July 31 (IANS): Vidarbha CA pulled off a dramatic eight-wicket victory over Tamil Nadu Cricket Association who collapsed to 99 all out in their second innings, leaving the rivals an easy target to achieve in the KSCA All-India cricket tournament here on Friday.

TNCA, who had a first innings lead of 22 runs, were shot out for just 99 with left-arm spinner Ravi Jangid snaring six wickets for 43. Needing 122 runs to win, Vidarbha made light of the target for a fine win which fetched them six points.

In another match, Gujarat easily beat Kerala by an innings and 72 runs to grab seven points.

Tamil Nadu CA: 357 and 99 all out in 48.4 overs (Ravi Jangid 6-43, Aditya Sarvate 3-32) lost to Vidarbha CA: 335 and 124 for 2 in 25.4 overs (Faiz Fazal 31, Ganesh Satish 55 not out, Shalab Shrivastava 38 not out, DT Chandrasekhar 2-51) by 8 wickets. Points: Vidarbha CA 6, Tamil Nadu CA 0.

Gujarat CA: 497 beat Kerala CA: 313 and 112 all out in 82.1 overs (Rohan Prem 38, Hardik Patel 4-15, Rush Kalaria 2-23) by an innings and 72 runs. Points: Gujarat CA 7, Kerala CA 0.
