Bantwal, Jul 19: After the new list of the seven wonders of the world was released not so long ago, people of Vittal witnessed a living wonder.

A man in his twilight years was spotted in Vittal town walking around leaving several eye brows raised. The matter came to light when he openly consumed a peice of cow dung wrapped up in a leaf comfortably to pacify his hunger.

With a lean body structure, grey hair and beard, this man continued eating the dung while everyone around him remained dumbstruck.

When locals tried to make a conversation with him, he just held his hands over his stomach clearly communicating in gestures that he was hungry.

After loittering around Vittal town for sometime, he left the place, leaving behind the residents of Vittal ponder over the reason that might have had made this old man do something that is hard to even imagine. If at all one persists to think of the reason, probably ‘hunger’ is the only answer that one can settle upon.

Its very sad, indeed, there was not a single person capable of feeding him one simple meal. We are long, long way from prosperity.
