Mangalore, Jul 19: A rag-picker was electrocuted after coming in touch with a live wire near Karavali Circle at Kankanady here on Wednesday July 18 evening.

The electrocuted has been identified as Gurka (30), a native of Nagpur.  He has no acquaintances in the city and was here for sometime.  He used to earn his daily bread by picking rags in the city.

On Wednesday afternoon he was picking rags near Karavali Circle at Kankanady when he touched a live wire of an electric transformer there.  Immediately he was electrocuted.  Though locals took him to Wenlock Hospital later, it was of no use as he had already breathed his last.

Kadri police have registered a case in this regard.
