Udupi, Jul 19: Security has totally been beefed up along the national highway 13 from Bajagoli to DK border in Karkala taluk following a day-long bundh call given by Naxalities in the Kudremukh National Park (KNP) area on Thursday July 19.

Superintendent of police Dr A Subrahmaneshwar Rao told the media persons that it will be the responsibility of the police to ensure that everything goes on normally during the bundh. He stated that at the border stretch which comes under the Kudremukh National Park area, vehicles would ply as usual. The buses on this route would be given protection with mobile patrols he added.

Police had conducted anti-sabotage checks and it would continue on Thursday too, stated Dr Rao.
