Mangalore, Jul 19: The drive to clear unauthorized banners, sign boards that are spoiling the beauty of town has begun on Thursday, July 18.

It was undertaken by MCC revenue department staff at the direction of deputy commissioner, who also discharges the duty as MCC administrative officer.

The entire town has been filled with unauthorized banners that are hung up to electric poles on the main road, at bus stands, intersection of roads without obtaining the permission from MCC.   The banners, sign boards that are at Kottar, Lady Hill, Karangalpady, Bejai were being removed.  This drive would go on for few more days across the town.
