Beltangady, Jul 20: The corpse of Vithal Moolya who had gone missing after killing his longtime lover on Saturday July 14 was found beside Ullal river bank on Tuesday July 17.

A corpse of a man was found at the river side in Ullal on Tuesday night.  Ullal police had suspected that it was the corpse of Vithal Moolya who informed Beltangady police.  The latter arrived with Vithal's family members. His body was identified by the family members on the basis of his shirt and beard on his face.

Vithal had killed his lover Babitha after slitting her throat near his house at Hegsunigury Neralakatte in Uli village on Saturday Jul 14 night.  Her body was found early Sunday morning.  At the background of him being disappeared, it was believed that he too has committed suicide.  Their doubt was confirmed when he had neither returned home nor visited any of his friends’ house.

Beltangady police are investigating the case.
