NGO Workshop: A workshop on programmes for food security will be organized by NGO forum at Prajna Couselling Centre on Monday, July 23. 

Various issues pertaining to public distribution system in Dakshina Kannada district will be discussed at the workshop. From different parts of the state representatives of the “right to food” campaign, will participate in the workshop, a press release stated.   

Mangalore University Political Science Teachers’ Association and St. Aloysius College: A seminar on “Political processes in India” was inaugurated at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore at 9.30 am. 

St. Aloysius College Principal Rev. Fr Swebert D’Silva inaugurated the seminar and Giselle D Mehta delivered the keynote address on the occasion. 

SDM Law College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies in Law: District-in-Charge Minister Nagaraj Shetty will inaugurate the student’s council at the College auditorium in Mangalore at 9.30 am. MLA U T Khader will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association and Faculty of Commerce Canara College: A book on “Business statistics and mathematics” will be released by Collegiate of Education joint director Dr Linda Christie, at Canara First Grade College seminar hall, in Mangalore at 10 am.

Seminar on IT: A seminar on income tax and service tax will be held today, that is Saturday, 21 July. This will be organized by the Mangalore branch of the South India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The resource person for income tax will be advocate Chaitanya, and Shivadas another advocate will be the resource person for service tax.  This seminar will be held at Hotel Goldfinch, Bunts hostel road, from 10.30 am onwards.

University College Old Students Association (UCOSA): Industralist P Dayananda Pai will be laying the foundation stone for a business management building. MLA N Yogish Bhat, Mangalore University VC Prof K M Kaveriappa, D K Chowta President of the UCOSA will be the chief guests.

Administrative reforms chairman M Veerappa Moily will preside over the function which will be held today at University College, Hampankatta, at 11 am. 

Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and Mangalore Taluk Mahila Mandalagala  Okkuta: ZP President Sushma Janardhan will inaugurate a programme on “Aashadadalli ondu dina”. While chief guest will be MLA Shakuntala Shetty, academy president M K Seetharam Kulal will preside over the function held today at Ravindra Kalabhavan, University College, Mangalore at 3 pm.   

Prestigious invite: Samuel K Samuel, principal of Crossland College, Udupi has been invited to participate at the 7th International conference on knowledge, culture and change in organizations as resource person. 

The conference is organized jointly by Singapore Management University, Singapore and the Globalism Institute, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. It is scheduled to be held at the Singapore Management University, Singapore from July 24-27.

As per press release from Crossland college on Friday, July 20, a paper on the topic “Preparing People for Changes: Post Liberalisation Scenario in India” will be presented by Prof Samuel.
