F1 driver Perez eyes podium finish at Mexican GP

Mexico City, Oct 22 (IANS): Mexican F1 driver Sergio "Checo" Perez said his dream is to step on the podium in the Grand Prix to be held in Mexico City next month.

Perez said he wishes to be part of the first three in the Mexican GP, though he knows this is not easy because his rivals have great level, Xinhua quoted local daily Record as saying on Wednesday.

"I definitely dream about climbing the podium but I have to be down-to-earth that a possible victory will only occur in extraordinary circumstances, as in Russia," Perez told Record, recalling his achievement of the third place in the Russian GP days ago.

The Mexican driver said more than 100,000 fans are expected to see the GP next November. "Fans are yearning a good result and this is a great motivation for me," said Perez.
