Youth from Chikkamagaluru drowns at Tannirbavi beach

Mangaluru, Feb 5: Out of four friends from Mallandur village in Chikkamagaluru district who came to Tannirbavi beach for fun on Wednesday February 3 evening, one was washed away. He has been identified as Vikram (19), a resident of Kelamalnad in Mallandur, Chikkamagaluru district.

Nandish, Vikram, Kiran, and Praveen had arrived in the city by motor bikes at around 4 pm on Wednesday. They approached the sea near Fathima Church near Tannirbavi and started to play in water. Kiran and Vikram were washed away into the sea due to the force of waves. Lifeguard staff deployed at the beach immediately jumped into the sea and succeeded in saving Kiran.

The body of Vikram, who got dragged into the sea beyond the reach of the lifeguards, was washed ashore at the seashore near Panambur beach on Thursday morning.

A case about the incident stands filed in Panambur police station.

    Four friends went to the beach for enjoyment and Vikram was dragged into the sea and was drowned due to the currents. RIP.
