Bramhavar, Oct 18: To express anguish over the bad condition of the National Highway 17 a ‘Bandh’ will be organized in Udupi district, on October 30. 

The ‘Bandh’ would be organized by various voluntary organizations and political parties here, who stated this in a meeting here on Wednesday October, 16. In the meeting it was decided to stage a ‘National Highway 17 Bandh’. They expressed their resentment at the bad condition of the national highway and the extension of the Mumbai – Mangalore Highway.

At the meeting Bus Operators Association, Rotary club and Lions club members, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress and Communist Party of India (Marxist) and representatives of Udupi Zilla Panchayat attended the meeting. The meeting also decided to seek the support of the NGOs.
