Mangalore: Residents Take Mescom to Task over Power Cuts

Mangalore, Oct 19: The locals staged a protest in front of MESCOM office at Mannagudde here and took the authorities into task for the unlimited power shutdown in the city, on Thursday, October 18 night.

The agitators alleged that the MESCOM authorities purposely shut down the power during the festival seasons.

On the other hand thousands of tourists from all over India visit coastal area now.  Owing to the unlimited power shutdown of the MESCOM authorities, the businessmen here lose heavy profits, they said.

Barke station sub-inspector Joy Antony and MESCOM section officer tried to convince the agitators. But the agitators demanded the higher officials to come to the spot.


Corporator Ashwin Kumar and local leaders Rajendrakumar, Franklin Monteiro, Rajendrakumar, Lokanath Bangera Chilimbi, Vinay L Shetty, Sharan Pumpwell, Guruprasad and others were present during the protest.
