Mangalore, Oct 22: Shanthi Kiran Counseling Centre at the Pastoral centre, Bajjodi here was inaugurated and blessed by Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore on Saturday October 20 at 9.30 am.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the inaugural function. Fr Wilson D’Souza, secretary, Catholic board of Education welcomed the bishop and the gathering.

Fr Lawrence Mendonca, director- counselor of the newly inaugurated counseling centre briefed the audience about the planned activities of the center and introduced the counselors available at the center.

The bishop in his presidential address expressed his concern for the emotionally disturbed people and his long-standing desire to start a counseling center to help such people.

He further said that he is happy that his dream is finally fulfilled. He requested the people in the audience to give publicity about the center so that many people under emotional stress and anxiety use this facility and benefit from the services offered here.

Fr Vincent Monteiro, director, Pastoral institute proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, director, Communication Centre compered the programme.
