Kundapur Oct 22: Two young men drowned a pond near Othinene, Byndoor near here on Saturday October 20.
The deceased have been identified as Kaja (17) and Satish (18), residents of Chickanayaka village of Tumkur district.
According to the sources these boys had gone to the pond for bathing. However, owing to the heavy rains they drowned.
They were working as cleaners of manganese ore lorres. They had parked the lorry near the pond and went to the pond to bathe. The pond was filled with the water following the heavy rains in the vicinity a couple of days before.
The Byndoor police with the help of the locals fished out the bodies the two young men from the pond later.
Postmortem of the two bodies was carried out and the bodies were handed over to their family members.
A case has been has been filed in Byndoor police station in this regard.
