Beltangady, Oct 3: Prathvish K, a final year student of Ujire SDM Engineering College pursuing electronics course, got his name etched out in the Guinness Book of World Records by creating two different pictures on two sides by stacking 4,500 rubik's cubes. Prathvish happens to be the first ever person to create this unique record.

Prathvish created the pictures of legendary Charlie Chaplin on one side, and Mr Bean on the other by using just the rubik's cubes.

Under the guidance of Prathvish, 20 students had created the colour designs by rubik's cubes as per his requirement.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr Veerendra Heggade, who visited Indraprastha Auditorium at Ujire where the record was created, recollected that Erno Rubik had electrified the world when he discovered rubik's cube. He hailed Prathvish for taking up thechallenge of creating two different pictures on two sides by using these cubes. He said that the cubes used for this record will be distributed among school children free of cost to enable them to improve their intelligence, concentration, expertise, and creativity.

The work of creating this record began at 9.27 am with the team of 20 students creating colour combinations and designs with the cubes to enable Prathvish to meet the challenge. The task was completed with the use 4,500 cubes at 2.30 pm. The cubes so assembled measured 14.981 metres in height, and 3.46 metres in width. It is gathered that Guinness has a previous record of creating a picture on one side by using these cubes. Prathivish is the first to succeed in creating different pictures on both the sides, it is learnt.
