Mangalore: ‘Engineer a Better Quality of Life’

Mangalore, Apr 30: “Engineers should constantly strive to improve the quality of human existence,” Vice-Chancellor of Vishveshvaraya Technological University (VTU) H.P Kincha has said.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a lecture hall complex and a laboratory block at the Srinivasa Institute of Technology here on Tuesday.

Addressing a gathering of teachers and students, Mr. Kincha said that like other professions such as medicine and law the objective of engineering was to provide answers to roadblocks in life. If you introduce yourselves as people who change lives you will be constantly motivated,” he told the students. VTU Registrar (Evaluation) K.V.A Balaji called upon the students to make best use of the facilities that the university was providing. He told teachers that they should identify potential teachers from the student base. “It is your greatest challenge at a time when students are making a beeline to the corporate sector.” ‘Engineer a better quality of life’
