Bengaluru, Aug 1: Former Media Adviser to UPA Prime Minister Dr Sanjaya Baru, who also worked in several newspapers, will be assuming charge as Secretary General of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) on September 1.
He will take over from Dr A Didar Singh, who completes his five year term at the DICCI.
According to an official press release from President of FICCI Pankaj Patel, FICCI has completed 90 years of its glorious existence growing from strength to strength under the personal efforts and work of Dr Singh.
FICCI has been extremely resilient in dealing with domestic and global challenges as well as supporting Indian industry in capitalizing on new emerging opportunities, Patel said.
He said FICCI recognizes the tremendous contribution of Dr Singh and would continue to benefit from his vast experience as he would be now be holding the position of the Principal Advisor to FICCI President from September 1.
