Mangaluru, Aug 6:  Pandeshwar police on Saturday, August 5, arrested two persons who were conspiring to loot rich people. Three from the same gang managed to flee before the police could arrest them.

Police said that the gang was also involved in blackmailing rich people.

Keerthan (23) from Thumbay near Bantwal and Kuldeep from Babugudde Attavar in city, are the persons arrested.

Police seized two machetes, Maruti Alto car and mobile phones from the accused.

All five from the gang were unemployed. They had planned to target rich people. Pandeshwar police received information about the same and went to apprehend the gang at Marnamikatte while three fled.

As per police sources the gang would send some photos of girls in intimidating pose through the social media to attract NRIs. Then they would get in touch with them to swindle money. Many NRIs learned about this tactic and stopped sending them money. But they never complained about it fearing adverse publicity.
