Bantwal: Woman dies after her veil gets entangled in grinder

Bantwal, Aug 9: After her veil accidentally got  entangled in a grinder that was in operation, a woman from Kambalabettu Kolambe in Vittal Casba village lost her life on Tuesday August 7.

The victim happened to be Alimamma (45), wife of Abbas, an auto rickshaw driver living at Kolambe near Kambalabettu. There was no one at home when Alimamma began to grind masala with grated coconut in her grinder. Unknown to her, her veil accidentally got stuck in the grinder as a result of which she was she got twirled violently.

The woman shouted for help at which some neighbours came there, rescued her, and admitted her into a private hospital at Puttur. But without responding to treatment, she breathed her last.

Alimamma's husband is an auto rickshaw driver at Vittal, and she has left behind two sons and a daughter.
