Mangaluru: Boiling water causes death of 18-month-old

Mangaluru, Aug 10: A child from Korakambala in Padu Perara village falling under the jurisdiction of Bajpe police station here, which was being treated on account of suffering extensive burn injuries after boiling water fell on it, breathed its last on Wednesday August 9.

Rida, daughter of Sumayya and Riaz, who was 18 months old, lost her battle for life at Wenlock hospital here. On July 28, boiling water had accidentally fallen on the child when its mother was inside the bathroom. The child, which was in critical condition, was initially rushed to a private hospital and then to government Wenlock Hospital. The child, which failed to properly respond to treatments given there, passed away on Wednesday morning.

A case of unnatural death was  registered in Bajpe police station relating to this incident.
