First of all, these mining lorries should be banned from morning 7am to night 8pm. Because, these lorries are dangerous for the public. Secondly, all politicians should think about preserving these mines as national propoerty. We should not give these ores to any other countries. Because, in future we may land up into problem of importing the same from other countries for a higher cost, which means, a big loss and this will adds to the increase in the cost of materials. This matter has to be judged carefully as early as possible in the interest of Indians.

Mines lorry or goods lorry, bus or car, bike or cycle, it is the responsibility of every one to be alert and patient. Just a few seconds of impatience will cost a life time. I see everyday the speeding bikes/cars/buses and lorries and I just pray for them thinking of their dependants, waiting for them at home.

I believe in the concept 'PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE'. We should try and get at the root cause of the problems. Traffic has grown over the years and there is a steep increase in the registration of vehicles every month. I was on the traffic committee several years ago and I had recommended then that The Police should enlist the cooperation of the public to solve our problmes.

Our present traffic and the police force cannot handle the situation by themselves and hence it is expedient that the system of traffic wardens be introduced. That apart we should educate public at grass root level. Young students at schools and colleges should be advised and instructed to follow traffic rules and the students should also take the initiatives to inculcate traffic sense in others. Mangalore is having an efficient, honest and good Inspector General of Police (Western Range)and with his fund of knowledge he should be in a position to make the people traffic conscious. its sad that the lorries are a nuisance. one of the main reasons for a glut of lorries are the mining lorries, which is not in the interests of the people. not only they pollute the roads, they wreak havoc on the roads, kill people due to rash driving by the lorry drivers, also wreck bridges because of over loading & also spoil roads for the same reason. besides, its only india where people export mines happily, every other country wants to keep its mine & ore safe for their use only. its disgusting to see none of the political parties not doing anything about it. stop mining!!!
