Mangaluru, Sep 13: Father Muller Medical College, on Tuesday, September 12, inaugurated the Allied Health Science courses for the year, at the Decennial Memorial Hall at the hospital campus, here.
In her inaugural address, Sr Maria Shruthi AC, principal of St Agnes Special School, said, “You have chosen to heal the broken human beings through the various courses that are inaugurated today. Offer your hands to God and touch, with those hands, the sick and suffering, and you will realise the power of your healing hands.”
She also thanked the FMCI for their services to St Agnes Special School students, “Use your power of healing, to heal yourself, others and the whole world,” she said.
In his presidential address, Fr Richard Coelho, director of FMCI welcomed all the new entrants to FMCI family. Speaking about the scope of AHS, he said, “By the next 10 years there will be a lot of demand for allied health professionals. The institution offers the best of education in the field of allied health sciences. Differently able people have special talents and it is the responsibility of allied health professionals to brighten their future, just as our institution is doing with the children of St Agnes Special School. Dedication and commitment in the field will bring success in your lives.”
Fr Ajith Menezes, administrator FMMC, Fr Rudolf Ravi D’Sa, administrator FMCI, Dr JP Alwa, dean FMMC, Dr Padmja Uday Kumar, vice dean, Sudeep MJ Pais, course coordinator, Physiotherapy, were also present on the dais.
Reena TD, parent of a student, expressed that children would be safe in the institute and will definitely do well.
Dr JP Alwa welcomed the gathering, Fr Ajith Menezes introduced the chief guest and Dr Sudeep MJ Pais proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the institutional anthem.
