Shivamogga, Nov 28: In a bizarre matter reported from Shivamogga, a boy studying in 10th standard of a government high school, left home, came into the contact of transgenders and started begging money for the sex change operation as he wants to become a girl.

The boy in question left his home in August 2017, saying that he is going to Mysuru. He came into contact with transgenders and started seeking alms in Tumkur in order to raise the amount required for the sex change operation.

As the boy, who is a bright student, did not report to the school for some days, the headmistress of the school visited the boy's house and was shocked to know that the boy is missing. As even the police could not locate the boy, the headmistress brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka state commission for protection of child rights.

In the meantime, the boy had called his mother from a landline telephone. Tracing this phone call, police rescued the boy from Tamilnadu and brought him back to Shivamogga. However, the boy is not willing to go home and is kept at the 'home for children' till he changes his mind. According to senior police officials, the boy was only acting as if he is a girl and there is no change in his original sex.

Parents of the boy are lauding the effort of the headmistress of the school, without whose effort, the boy would not have been traced and brought back to hometown.
