Udupi: BJP demands arrest of miscreants trying to spoil image of Pejawar Swamiji

Udupi, Nov 30: BJP state executive member Uday Kumar Shetty on Wednesday, November 29 demanded the arrest of miscreants who insulted Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji on social media.

Addressing media at Udupi press club, Uday said, “Some people tried to insult Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji on social media. We condemn such acts as he is one of the most revered spiritual leaders in the nation. Miscreant have tried to insult swamiji, should be arrested immediately.

“Prof Chandrashekjar Patil also known as Champa dragged politics at Kannada Sahithya Sammelan unnecessarily. It was a shameful act. It was a not suitable platform to speak on politics. He was supposed to talk about the conservation of Kannada language and literature. Sammelan was a non political programme.

“The State government has not taken action against minister for mines and geology Vinay R Kulkarni who is alleged to be involved in the murder of BJP leader Yogesh Gowda. The chief minister is trying to protect Kulkarni in the case. Retired IPS officer and security advisor Kempaiah is allegedly trying to close Yogish Gowda murder case. Hindu activists’ murders, series of farmers’ suicide, and government officials’ murders, are all ‘Hathya Bhagya’ sponsored by the state government.

He further alleged that CM Siddaramaiah was dividing the society on the basis of between Veerashaiva and Lingayats. "Dharma Sansad gave a call for the Hindu society to wake up. Hindu community people will teach the CM a lesson," he said.

“District in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj did not show any courtesy to participate in Dharma Sansad by keeping politics aside. He could have come at least to the venue to show respect. Thousands of saints participated. He wishes minority community members, but he did not have the courtesy to respect Hindu Dharma platform, which was a non-political programme organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad,” he said.

He complimented the district administration and police department for extending support and security for the 3-day Dharma Sansad.
