Udupi: SIO to hold statewide ‘Many religions - one India’ drive from Dec 1 to 31

Udupi, Nov 30: As part of a month-long brotherhood campaign, the district's Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) from December 1 to 31 under the banner ‘Many religions - one India’ will organize various programmes such as Marathon Mohella meetings, corner meeting, cycle jatha, door to door visits, campus lectures, seminars, posture presentations," said Afwan, campaign convener at Brahmagiri here on Wednesday November 29.

He said, "A month-long brotherhood campaign will be held to spread the importance of harmony across the nation.



"The brotherhood campaign will be held under the banner 'Many religions one India', to address the issue of communal polarization in campuses across the state. Religious leaders from all communities will address the gathering. The campaign through with various activities will address the students and youth across the state.

"The main programme of the campaign will be held on December 13," he added.

The SIO members launched the campaign logo at the press club.

Afwan further said, "The SIO campaign committee has carried out campaigns at seven districts out of ten. Through mutual understanding we must respect one another's religion. Every sect and religion proposes the message of connecting hearts. On this matter, SIO organized a statewide awareness campaign.

Zishan, campus state secretary, Shuaib Malpe, district SIO president, Muhammed Sharukh were present.
