Let me Grieve for Arushi - Rajesh Talwar

New Delhi, Jul 13: A pale and visibly drained Rajesh Talwar, who was given a clean chit in the murders of his teenage daughter Arushi and domestic help Hemraj, walked out of the Dasna Jail in Ghaziabad on Saturday and said all he wanted to do was think of his daughter and spend time with his family.

Rajesh Talwar, wearing a white T-shirt and trouser, walked out of the jail at about 8.30 am after 51 days of imprisonment.

The dentist’s relatives, who were  waiting outside the jail, embraced him and whisked him to a car even as hundreds of media persons surrounded them for what has been one of the biggest media stories of the year.

The policemen were unable to control the mob of journalists.

Rajesh’s brother Dinesh Talwar said: “Please give us some time. Rajesh has just come out of the jail. He is very depressed. We need your cooperation.”

Later, while entering his father-in-law’s house in Noida, Talwar said: “My daughter’s death is the biggest grief of my life. I have been suffering so much.  I thank the CBI for their efforts. It is because of that I am not in the jail right now.”

On the way to the Noida house, the family stopped to pray at the Sai Temple in Sector 61.

Rajesh’s wife Nupur Talwar, who looked equally drained, said: “The incident has left us with pain and suffering. I just want to plead with everyone to pray along with us for Arushi’s soul.”
