Bantwal: Leopard spotted at three places, preparation on to catch the same

Bantwal, Jan 27: Suresh, zonal forest officer, has informed that they have received complaints from the public of spotting leopard at three different places in the taluk and the forest department is taking action to conduct an operation to catch them and send them back to the forest.

A female leopard with two cubs was spotted at Ira village three days back and the cage was arranged on January 26 to catch the same. A week prior to this, information about finding a leopard roaming at Pallipadi hill area under Kariyangala village limits was given. Though the forest officials placed the bone to catch the panther, it had not appeared after the initial spotting.

Public has also informed about the presence of a cheetah at Kodman under Meramajalu village limits. Forest officials are making all efforts to catch this as well.
