Mangaluru: Title deeds to 1,138 families of Bengre distributed by MLA J R Lobo

Mangaluru, Feb 12: MLA J R Lobo distributed title deeds to 1,138 families residing in Bengre for their houses and sites under section 94 (c) (c) of the land revenue act 1964 on Saturday February 10 at Bengre.

Addressing the gathering, MLA J R Lobo said, "For the overall development of Kasaba Bengre, state government and the central government released Rs 100 crores. Lakshadweep administration is ready to invest Rs 250 crore for the development of the old port. A permanent bridge will be constructed that will connect Bengre to Mangalore port for which government has appointed consultants and even the sketch for the same is ready. This project will help Mangaluru to develop economically. I will contest in the forthcoming elections and I need all the blessings. I have fulfilled the dreams of the citizens of Mangaluru. It is my dream to make mangaluru develop economically and become a big business sector."

In spite of residing in Bengre for many years, the residents did not get RTC and title deeds for the plot and house in which they are residing. This demand was pending for a long time. 2,209 families had applied for regularization of houses and sites at Bengre. The remaining 1,071 applications are under inquiry and expected to be completed within 15 days. Meanwhile, 3,000 applications are received from other areas of Mangaluru including Kadri and Maroli. Total of 1,623 applications for regularization of house and plots have been settled and the rest are in different stages of inquiry. Families from these areas will receive the title deeds on February 15 at St Sebastian church hall Bendorwell.

Corporator AC Vinayaraj, Praveen Alva, Meryll Rego, Vishwas Das, T K Sudhir, Mohan Bengre, tahsildar T Gurudas Prasad and others were present.

    Thank you so much, Mr. J. R. Lobo for your untiring efforts in lending a helpful hand for more than thousand families at Bengre who were made fortunate to receive property titles so that they can own their own land with pride and joy. These kind of gestures are noble acts and will go a long way in our life time as well as the life time of our younger generation. Whether our name appears on a marble slab or not, God will always create a stone somewhere and make it possible your name as a "Guru" that struggled for the benefit of small and needy people.

    These are all the stories that are no more stories, but they are facts that need be loudly recognized and praised.

    The future road between Mangalore town of Bunader with Bengre will create new scenic sights so that thousands of tourists can travel alongside the water line and also witness the people of Bengre owning their own land.

    Creations of these kind of opportunities will proudly be recognized in our every day life. Poor people will be proud to own their own land, and the younger generation will grow with pride and unity.
