Udupi, Feb 14: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency MP Shobha Karandlaje on Tuesday February 13 inaugurated the National Skill Development Corporation sponsored ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra’, located at Reliance Trends Building, Lakshmindra Nagar, Udupi Manipal road.

Addressing the gathering she said, "The prime minister has completed three and a half years. He has promised to solve the problem of unemployment problem in the nation by generating employment in all villages.

"The union government has launched a skill development department after 70 years. Engineering graduates are facing severe unemployment. There is no hope of finding jobs in the field of engineering.

"Most of the people visit malls, but purchase from the street where street vendors sell fresh vegetables. Through bargaining they are able to buy vegetables at cheap prices. Most of the middle class people and low income group prefer to purchase from these places.

"Most of street vendors who sell pakodas and fast food at Malleshwaram market have come from coastal areas like Karkala and Kundapur and are thriving in their business. They have reached high positions and are conducting business on a large scale. Nowadays people desire to be self sufficient.

She further added, "Congress leaders were commenting on small scale traders and street venders by taunting Modi's personality. This is unfair. Congress has governed for 50 years in the nation out of 70 years. Congress is the main reason for this pathetic situation.

"Illiteracy in India is high as all children are unable to pursue graduation. The union government has decided to set up skill development training centers in all the constituencies.

"The training company has promised placement for all students who complete their three months of training at PMKK. I urge all job aspirants to make use of this opportunity.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary said, "Modi in his election manifesto promised employment generation to youth. State government promised unemployment allowance which has not been executed yet. 1% of the people were able to get government jobs, but 6.5 crore population is job hunting.
