M'lore: Navaratri Mahotsav at Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple to Begin on Sep 30

Mangalore, Sep 29:
The Navaratri Utsav at Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Kateel, will be held from Tuesday September 30 to Wednesday October 8. As per the schedule, ‘Lalita panchami’ will be held on Saturday October 4, ‘Moolanakshatra’ on Monday October 6, ‘Maha Navami’ on Wednesday October 8, ‘Vijaya Dashami’, and Madhwa Jayanti, on Thursday October 9.
 
Various cultural programmes will be held everyday from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm on the temple premises. ‘Yakshagana’ will be held at the school auditorium from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm. ‘Shanti’ music group from Bajpe, will stage a musical extravaganza at 5.00 pm on Tuesday September 30.

‘Dasavani’ by K G Shashikumar Karant group will be held on Wednesday October 1 and ‘Sanjeevani’ by Bangalore V Sudhakar group will be held the following evening. Bharatanatyam by Chaitra Nayak Guruvayanakere, will be held on Friday October 3 and ‘Bhakti Sangeet’ by Sangeet Balachandra group Udupi on Saturday October 4.  
 
Yakshagana taalamaddale ‘Ravana Vadhe’ by the women’s troupe of Sri Bharati Kala Pratistan, Varadamoola, will be held on Sunday October 5 while ‘Hari Kirtan’ will be held by Shailesh Kumardas Sakleshpur on Monday October 6.  Vidhushi Vani R Bhat of Mysore will give a classical music performance on Tuesday October 7. Nishita troupe of the city will stage ‘Nrutyanjali’, on Wednesday October 9.
 
A religious programme will be held on Thursday October 9 and Yakshagana taalamaddale from 8.30 pm on the same day, informed a temple press release.
