Puttur, Sep 30: Puttur taluk panchayat (TP) executive officer C Nagesh, through a statement issued in response to reports that appeared in the media charging him of swindling funds of the TP by inflating bills, has clarified that he was not involved with any corruption and also that no funds were misused in respect of conducting training at Koila during February last.

It may be recalled, that the media had reported about certain irregularities committed by the above officer while making claims in respect of the said bills, and that the zilla panchayat(ZP) chief executive officer had confirmed the same at the recent ZP meeting.

Nagesh has stated, that apart from basic training for two days, a seven-day skill-development training had been imparted at a programme held in Koila under the Swarna Jayanti Swarozgar Yojana. 91 people had participated for the basic training, whilc 169 persons attended for the skill development training. A total of Rs 1,05,287 was spent including food, furnitures, photoes etc., All payments were made through cheques. No Irregularities have been committed, he has asserted.
