Udupi, Sep 30: In an accident that occured near Kannar of Haluvalli village near Petri on the state highway on Monday September 29, one among the three bicycle-born boys died while two sustained grievous injuries.

vivek (13), a seventh standard student of Kannar higher primary school and son of Shekhar Markal from Haluvalli village died on the spot. Sunil(15), a ninth standard student and son of Shekhar Markal's younger sister and Sudhish(12), seventh standard student and son of Sudhakar, brother of Shekhar, were enjoying the holiday and riding on their bicycle. When they were crossing the road together, a tempo which was moving towards Brahmavar from the direction of Jomlu near here, hit them. The bicycle was turned into a bundle of mangled steel due to the impact of the accident.

Both Sunil and Sudhish are being treated at Manipal hospital. A case has been registered by the Brahmavar police.
