M'lore: Muhurat of Konkani Religious Play ‘Somya Thum Khoim Vethai’? Held

Mangalore, Sep 30:
The muhurat of ‘Somya Thum Khoim Vethai?’, a Konkani religious play based on the life of St Peter, was held at St Joseph the Worker church, Merlapadav, Neermarga, near here, on Monday September 29.
 
Rohan Monteiro, proprietor of city-based Property Real Estate, was the chief guest on the occasion. Writer Fr Ronald Serrao, director Dolla Manglur, assistant director Claude Bendore, and Denis D’Silva, co-ordinator and Konkni Yuva Awaz general secretary, were the chief guests.


 
Fr Ronald Serrao handed over a copy of the play to director Dolla Manglur. Rohan Monteiro presented the key symbolizing St Peter, the holder of heavenly keys, to Konkani Yuva Awaz during the ceremony.
 
The play will be staged at the grounds of Cordel Holy Cross church on March 29 2009, with about 200 artistes and an audience of thousands.The rehearsals and preparations will be made in the coming months said St Joseph the Worker, Neermarga parish priest Fr Charles Menezes. Santosh D’Costa compered the programme.
