Udupi: 'Navarasotsava' Inaugurated at Srikrishna Math

Udupi, Oct 2:  Speaking at the inaugural function of Navarasotsavaa organised at the Rajangana of Srikrishna Math here on Tuesday September 30, Chikmagalur MLA C T Ravi called upon for the internal enemies casteism and untouchability and external enemies, religious conversions and teorrorism, that are plaguing the society.

"Westerners develop business-like relationsips while Indians believe in emotional relationshi. No one can conceptualise India without spiritualism. Our sages termed the entire world as a single family. Globalisation, a term coined recently, means the same," he analysed.

Vijay Karnataka Kannada daily Mangalore resident editor U K Kumarnath said, that the Paryaya Swamiji's decision to include 'secure Udupi' to the prevailing slogan of 'beautiful Udupi' is very apt and timely. "Let us give more importance to the security of Srikrishna Math and support the wishes of the Swamiji," he said.

Paryaya Puttige Sri Sugunendrateerta in his benedictory address, said that worshipping deities,besides providing a sense of peace, tranquility and spiritual satisfaction, has the power of making a person virtuous and striking social unity. The festivities of Navaratri, are reflections of a man's daily deed," he explained. Sri Lakshmivarateerta Swamiji of Shirur Math too spoke on the occasion.

Manipal Press Ltdexecutive officer Gautam Pai inaugurated the programme. Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty presided. Representatives of various temples and dignitaries were present. Ex-president of Udupi municipality Somashekhar Bhat was conferred with 'Srikrishna Muhyaprananugraha' award'.
