Udupi, Oct 4: The appeal preferred by the local DySP M B Nagaraj against his transfer, has been dismissed by the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT).
When Vishwanath Pandit was posted in place of M B Nagaraj as DySP here, Nagaraj had appealed to the KAT and succeeded in getting a stay order in his favour. The appeal has now been dismissed, and the department's action in transferring him has been upheld.
Some incidents that took place after Nagaraj stuck to his guns and refused to vacate his seat here, had succeeded in drawing lot of public attention. Nagaraj's office was locked to restrain him from working there. His vehicle and telephone were withdrawn. Pandit worked from his home. The department also suspended Nagaraj for indiscipline. All along, Nagaraj claimed that the KAT had decided the issue in his favour.
It may be recalled, that Nagaraj had succeeded in getting a stay order even when H D Mendonca was posted in his place during the governor's rule some months ago.
