Mangalore: Sanjeevini Scheme for Farmers Introduced by APMC

Mangalore, Oct 6: The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) of the taluk had organized a programme to educate farmers within its jurisdiction, about the Sanjeevini scheme.

This scheme aims at paying applicable compensation to the farmer and thier family members for the mishap and death caused while involved with agricultural activities.

Under this scheme, a sum of Rs 50,000 was paid as compensation to Gracy Martin, wife of deceased Valerian Moras of Shirtadi near Moodbidri, who collapsed and expired in his own farm while plucking coconuts.

Member of Karnataka State Agricultural Marketing Federation and APMC President K Krishnaraj Hegde distributed the compensation at Baikampady office of APMC in the city. Secretary of APMC D Satish Kumar, member Vajrakumar Alva and member of Shirthadi gram panchayath Frederick Pinto were present.
