Udupi: Local delicacies ‘Chakkuli’, ‘Laddus' distributed to devotees in memory of Shiroor Swamiji

Udupi, Sep 4: Udupi Zilla Nagarika Samithi trust and Lions Club, Brahmagiri, distributed local preparations ‘Chakkuli’ and ‘Laddus’ to more than 10,000 devotees in front of Nagarika Samithi office, Chittaranjan circle, on the occasion of Krishna Janamashtami.

Nagarika Samithi chief secretary Nithyananda Olakadu said that the programme was being held in memory of late Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji who was responsible for providing special glaze for the feast in Udupi. Brother of late Laxmivaratheertha Swamiji set the programme in motion. Santhekatte based Shanker and his team prepared the delicacies in the counter. Ten thousand Chakkulis and 2,000 laddus were distributed. Social worker Bhasker Devadiga Kunjibettu donated laddus to the samithi.



M Nagesh Hegde, Lathavya Acharya, Jayakar Shetty Indrali, Ranjan Kalkur Ambagilu, Lions Club president C S Rao, office bearers Vasudev Chitpadi, Vadiraja Rao, Dinaker Poonja, Umesh Naika, Nagarika samithi chief secretary Nithyananda Olakadu and member Taranath Mestha were present.
