Mangaluru Sep 7: "Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheswara temple will distribute health scholarships, education scholarships and social welfare funds on Sunday September 9 at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara temple Kalyana mantap," announced temple president H S Sairam.

Addressing media here on Thursday September 6, H S Sairam said, "In the year 2017 on the occasion of Dasara, former minister B Janardhana Poojary decided to distribute education scholarships, health scholarships and other scholarships to the needy. The then deputy commissioner Dr Jagadish launched this programme. We will distribute education scholarship worth Rs 15 lac, health scholarships worth Rs 5 lac and social welfare funds worth Rs 5 lac.



Treasurer Padmaraj said, "Scholarship distribution programme will be inaugurated by deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil under the aegis of former minister B Janardhana Poojary, temple president H S Sairam will preside over the function. Donors, temple committee members will also present during the event.

"As many as 554 deserving students will get education scholarship, students of job oriented courses will get Rs 5,000 to 10,000, degree students will get scholarship up to Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 and PUC students will get scholarship of Rs 2500 to Rs 3000. Beneficiaries who applied for the health scholarship will get health scholarship and also social welfare fund will be distributed. Students of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Kasargod will be benefitted by this scholarship.

Vice president Raghavendra Kuloor, secretary Madhava Suvarna, member Ravishankar Mijar, B K Tharnath and others were present.
