Udupi: Adani Foundation constructs toilet blocks worth Rs 7.45 lac at Mudarangadi under CSR

Udupi, Sep 9: Adani Foundation, a CSR wing of Adani Group, as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of UPCL, today inaugurated 5 newly constructed toilet blocks in the premises of St Francis Xavier Church, Mudarangadi, in the limits of Mudarangadi gram Panchayat.

The toilet blocks which were constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.45 lac under the Green Nurturing Initiative of Adani CSR programme, were inaugurated and made open to the public by Fr Francis Xavier Lewis, Fr Richard Quadras, parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church, Mudarangadi, David D’Souza, president of Mudarangadi gram panchayat, Jayanti Poojarty, vice-president of Panchayat and Kishore Alva, joint president of Adani UPCL.

Speaking on the occasion, Alva told that last year Adani Foundation had constructed an open gymnasium for elderly people and playground for children in the premises and church care committee along with Fr Francis Xavier Lewis had requested for providing the toilet facilities at the premises for usage by devotees visiting the church and for the public. Honouring the request, Adani Foundation has executed the work as a part of Green Nurturing Programme, he told.

Fr Richard Quadras and Fr Francis Xavier Lewis welcomed the CSR initiatives of Adani UPCL and appreciated the efforts of Kishore Alva in delivering the CSR activities for the benefit of society.

Anil Kumar, panchayat development officer, Sukumar Shetty, Shoba Fernandes, members of panchayat, Janet Barboza, president of Udupi Christian Sthree Sanghatan, UPCL company’s AGM Girish Navada, senior manager Ravi R Jere, Adani Foundation Team members Vineet Anchan, Sukesh Suvarna and Andeep Poojary were present on the occasion.
