Mangaluru, Sep 9: JCI Mangaluru, Lalbagh chapter, organised an awareness rally on organ and eye donation on Sunday, September 9 at Lalbagh.
Rakesh Kunjoor, JCI zonal president, inaugurated the rally by releasing the balloons in air. Murali Sham, former vice-president, JCI India, was attended as chief guest. Dr Ravichandra Karkal, associate professor of Psychiatry, Yenepoya Medial College, Sunil Oswald Pinto, and Jaison Pereira were present.
Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Kunjoor said, “We all know about JCI and its service towards the society. Its dedicated and socially committed members across the country are doing a tremendous job on the sector of social service and personal development. Their concentration over education and complete health for needy is highly appreciable. With an intention of conveying a message on health, JCI Lalbhag chapter has organized this health rally and medical check-up camp today. This is a much needed programme. This will help to raise awareness on health among people who are watching, monitoring and participating in the programme. I congratulate the organisers for this wonderful event and wish them all success in their future ventures.”
In his speech, Murali Sham said, “JCI Lalbagh chapter is known for its dedicated members and unique programmes. Definitely, today’s health rally will successfully bring health conscious among people. Hope, the unit will conduct many more unique programmes in future also.”
The rally started from Lalbagh and culminated at Inland Avenue, Ballalbagh. Prior to the rally, a health check-up camp was held.
