Beltangady: ICYM Madanthyar hosts field inter ward sports competitions

Beltangady, Sep 10: ICYM Madanthyar on Sunday september 9 along with Nithyadhar ward organised inter ward sports competitions in the field of Uday Kumar Kattemane, at Atthaje, Punjalkatte.

Parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Madanthyar and director of ICYM Madanthyar, Fr Basil Vas, secretary of the chief minister of Karnataka State Government, Arun Furtado were the main guests. The assistant parish priest and associate director of ICYM Madanthyar, Fr Alwyn D'Souza, principal of Sacred Heart PU college Fr Jerome Dsouza, deacon Br Alwyn D'Souza, ICYM Mangaluru diocese president Jaison Pereira, ICYM Beltangady deanery president Vivian Fernandes, ICYM Madanthyar unit animator Sr Treeza Crasta, Nithyadhar ward Gurkar Lilly Benedicta D'Souza, owner of the field Uday Kumar Kattemane, Vinay Kumar Kattemane and owner of the house Chandappa Poojaari, Nithin Poojari were present on the dais.



The programme was inauguraged by lighting the lamp with 'Kreeda Jyothi' carried by the sports minister of ICYM Madanthyar Avil D'Souza. The programme flagged off by Fr Alwyn began with a buffallo race in the field.

The oath taking ceremony was conducted by parish council vice president Ronald Sequera.

Under the leadership of ICYM Madanthyar, 22 Wards of SH parish actively participated in the competitions.

ICYM youth Arvin Moras, Tyson D'Cunha were the convenors for the programme. Elias and Saritha Lobo were present as the main judges of the programme. Maria Pereira and Ronald Monis hosted the programme.
